Violent Torque converter lockup

Hi All. I have a 97 F-250 diesel. When on the throttle pretty hard at around 43 mph the torque converter locks up very violently!!! I had read that the computer looks for a 100 rpm or so difference, But this goes from about 2500 to 1500 rpm!! No trouble codes!! This is after the trans goes into third gear. IF I am on the throttle easy just feels like another shift of the trans. I don’t believe the converter is broken as it will spin the rear tires if I stand on it. Any ideas??
If I let off the throttle at this speed the converter locks up normal and then I can get back on the throttle.>>

Thanks Russ>>
