core charges???
hey everyone seeing how i'm new to modding things like engine/drivetrain components i know absolutely nothing about these "refundable core charge" things that are all over sites.... like what is it?? i'm guessing it's something like you buy the product, you get it, put it in, take your old parts and send them back and you get that "refundable" amount back? but does that mean that when you buy the product you have to have the let's say $1000 + a $1200 core charge?? so techinically you need $2200 to purchase it?? or do you just need the $1000 and send back your old parts and you're good to go?? thanks everyone
(stage 2 injectors are lookin nice right now!!!)

the first part is right... lets say you buy a new tranny and it costs 1k and the core charge is 500 bucks youll have to pay the 1500 upfront and get the refund of 500 when you send your old tranny to them.... i think its lame but what can you do lol

Now some companies will aloow you 30 day to return the core b4 they charge the core to your credit card. I have installed a few Jasper engines and I have never had to pay a core because I get the old one back to them within the time limit.
Most injectors you buy are already remanufactured, so they need your cores to remanufacture. It's a revolving door, if you didn't send your back they have to buy a new set and they cost 2k. |
