@Big Bird. Where can I get replacement bearings for the pulley's on my '99 Powerstroke?
Should I replace all three pulley bearings or just the two on the idler bracket?

Yes, I guess I did lol.
I'm having issues with my pulley's now. They're making a loud whining noise. And I searched for an inexpensive way to replace them.

I think you can get replacement bearings in any part store: NAPA, AZ, etc. Id change ALL of them.

Good luck.

Thanks.
I just got a reply from @Big Bird and said the same thing. But also said since there's that tension spring in it, it would probably be better to just replace the entire unit. NAPA has it for $80.00.

^^^^^ +1; putting a new bearing (or in your case, bearings in a tensioner with a worn spring is a complete waste of time. And the spring is as old as the bearings.

Thanks. I actually did end up replacing the entire unit. And when I was removing the old one, I noticed there was play in the tension by going the opposite direction from releasing the belt. So it is a good thing I replaced the whole thing. Also, out was the drive pulley that was bad. It only cost me $55.00+ tax through my friends commercial account at AutoZone.

I got some bearings that the NAPA guy said were the correct ones. They weren't sealed on either side. They didn't last very long at al before they seized. Tuns out they were pilot bearings meant to be greased. So be careful of where or from who you buy them from.

I would think by looking at the difference in the bearings you should have known something was wrong.

In my haste to fix my squealing belt I let optimism override my brain when he told me the catalog said they were the correct ones. Yep, I should'a known better.
