1997 F-250 good buy at $3800???

First off I would like to say I am new to the PS world, as in I don't have one yet. I have been looking for a while and just came across a 1997 F-250 ext. cab 4wd. It's from NV, so no rust. It has downpipe, egt and boost gauges, edge programmer, newer tranny (auto), new injectors, intake, bfg MT tires. The only thing I am worried about is it has 300k+ miles on it. He wants $3800 for it.
Is 300k something I should worry about? It seems like more miles than I really want due to the fact that it means I will most likely be replacing at least gears and springs just due to normal wear and tear.

if it has been well maintained, i would not worry about 300k. these motors are capable of 500k+

x2 on that. check for leaks and such, have a reputable mechanic take a look at the 'newer' tranny. you can eve go as far as a compression test. but thats about it, 3800 isnt bad at all with those new compnents. but again, hes got a tuner, so its probably a good idea to check the tranny. again 300k isnt anything to worry about if its been taken care of.

welcome to the org!
