97 F350 4x4---Whats it worth?!

Ok fellers heres the deal, my buddies uncle has a CHERRY 97 F350PSD single wheel CC LB 4x4 Auto with about 70-80,000 miles. He is wanting to sell it after he finds a new truck, and I want it SOOO bad!! He bought it new and it has been garage kept, and he has always had towels or sheets on the seats inside, and best of all, its a virgin truck other than the exhaust.

Question is, other than going off of bluebook value, what is a fair offer for me to make him, and what is a fair price for him to ask?!?!?!

Plan is to take all the stuff off of mine and transfer all of it to the new truck and sell mine to my dad for a farm truck! I have always wanted this exact truck, so if I get to buy it, i'll probly be buried in it instead of a coffin!!

Thanks

Cool thanks guys! Appreciate the input! Also, just to get an idea, how much will a built trans cost that will support somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 to 450 horsepower. I see you guys both have built trannys with a pretty decent amount of mods.

Again thanks!
