Turbo Retaining Rings--- Question

I am gathering up all sorts of parts and pieces right now, and will be soon 'undress' the top of my motor for rebuilding my turbo, changing out all my boots, changing various o-rings etc....attempting to stop oil leaks.

On Dieselsite.com, I saw a Turbo Retaining Ring for 3" id boost hose. How many of these rings are required? one or two?

I'm new to working on the PS motors.
