custom intake

I want to make a custom intake for my '97 F350 powerstroke. Can I just use 4inch exhaust pipe? And what is the best flowing dry filter to use?

the 6637 filter is pretty much king...and cheap too

get a piece of 4in exaust tubing w/a 45* bend and you are ready to rock.
