How much power?

How much power can you make with a 94.5 to 97 powerstroke and still be driveable and can tow with it?

depends how much money you want to throw at it lol but seriously it all depends on your tuning and how much air/fuel you are moving also how much weight you want to pull

Tow how much?

A d66 turbo, stage two injectors and a good tranny would be a decent package for quite a few applications.

Probably 360+ horse.

you can run 550+ HP and still tow fine. I am just shy of 500 and it tows like theres no tomorrow.

Yes I know I have a SD but they are the same motors, just convert the turbo and go medium to big oil and they are all the same then.

Thanks guys. Car trailers , campers just normal towing I got out of drag racing and I know when you get to a point the drivability goes out the window. I have a 02 diesel dually that Im selling so I can buy a 4x4. I love the old body style. Are the motors in the obs the same as the 99 to 02? I know the fuel system is different Im mainly talking about heads down.

the fuel system is different. The turbo and intake manifold, as well as the uppipes are different. HPOP is slightly weaker. and different injectors.

However the OBS trucks had better injectors.

Going crazy is fun. Thanks guys for all the help. I got out of drag racing couple of years ago. We ran a twin turbo mustang thats why I like messing with these diesels. Turbos make a ton of power!

You guys may be able to help My 02 is giving me problems starting. It will crank a long time before it starts like the fuel pump is not pumping but it is. or no oil pressure. Its worse when truck is warm.
