HELP! Lookin at new truck and need help.. "passenger side harness needs to be replace

Guy says that the pass. side harness needs to be replaced due to the valve cover gasket leaking and the oil eating the wire harness. He says he'll give me the new gasket, harness and glow plugs. Also side up pipe is cracked and said that the truck runs fine but after a while it "acts" like its running hot due to the uppipe? He says it acts like it gets hot after a lot of stop and go traffic.

Easy fix? Sounds like up pipe, valve cover gasket and thats all as far as getting the truck to run good right? Does this condition sound like it can be driven on for a little while until its fixed?

Matt

I doubt the up pipe has anything to do with it"acting hot". Harness and gaskets are not too bad. If it were me I would change the glow plugs while your in there(do both sides).

Well I talked to him a bit more.. dunno what he meant by "acting hot".. but he said if you drive in a lot of stop and go it will start to chug. I'm sure that has to do w/ the up pipe right? He says it uses maybe a quart of oil every 300miles or so but he said he really has no idea and hasn't really tried measuring like that.
