Is this 94 250 a powerstroke?
How do you know on an older 94 250 if it is powerstroke? The truck only says turbo below the 250 fender badge....and no sign of powerstoke under the hood but there is a Garret turbo. any feed back would help also is the lug pattern 8 on 6.5 like a chevy

Can you see the individual fuel lines running to each cylinder?

If it only says Turbo then its an IDI. unless someone did a PSD swap or replaced the badges. i dont know in the lug pattern, i think the psd is 8

My father in law bought the truck so ill check the fuel line deal, what about the idi what is that exactly. I know its the diff between powerstroke and non powerstroke but what does it mean idi

Automatic or manual? All the '94 PSDs were manuals.
IDI = Indirect Injection (as opposed to the PSD being Direct Injection). |

that is incorrect we had three at the place i used to work at that were all auto and none of them were swaps
also 94's would say turbo diesel weather they were psd or idi you have to look at the motor look and see if there is an electrical connector going to each valve cover and i believe there should be a cover that says powerstroke diesel |

i have been searching the non powerstroke forums and looked at the other 7.3 engines and they have a carburater looking deal on top the motor you know like a circle air filter with a wing nut! But this truck has a plastic air box on top not after market because it goes to the front of the truck like ram air the factory ram air. Ill check sat but it is auto trans! thanks everybody

If the oil filler is on the valve cover its a PSD, If it has the oil filler on the front of the timing cover its an IDI

like others have said some 94 powerstrokes have just the turbo diesel badge and if in not mistaken the valve covers on idi's are grey where powerstrokes are black plus idi you can see the fuel lines running to the injectors.
