Blue smoke
How you doing guys, Well i just finally got in from non-stop plowing with my truck this weekend. The truck has been running non-stop since friday night. Well my problem is today i was taking a break went inside left the truck running outside for about an hour. When i came out i noticed a very light blue haze coming out of the exhaust but when you hit the gas it went away. It seemed like it would come and go. When i noticed this i went in the cab and noticed that the temp gauge was around the C. And another thing i noticed was last monday i checked my oil and the dip stick read around 3/4 and today i checked it and it was a little below a half. There are no leaks just a very very very slight one. My buddy said the loss could be from running the truck nonstop night and day plowing and sanding. does it sound like the truck is burning the oil?

If during that time it idled for long periods of time I would say its normal. How many miles on it. If its getting up there that would be normal.

it has 158,659 on it, i let it sit outside while i was in dunks eating. When i came out noticed it, drove and plowed some more and i havent seen it yet only real quick when it started up, im concerned about the amount of oil it used , but im not sure im not to knowledgeable on these motors

I wouldn't worry about it too much, just keep an eye on it and see how much oil it burns.

I have 172k on mine and i let it sit and idle for about a half an hour and i didnt see any blue smoke but when i left my driveway the first 50 ft it was rolling some blue smoke then back to running normal. so it sounds fine to me

what about the loose of oil? i have a slow leak from my turbo pedastil but its not leaking that much. Is it because it plowed 32 hours the first snow storm then 40 hours this past weekend non-stop? the truck never shut off. and when i plow i never go above 15 m.p.h
