Cold Start WIN.....

32 degrees and my truck started with no glow plugs....roughly 4-5 seconds hitting the starter.....my GP relay has been coming on by itself draining my batteries so it's unplugged and unhooked from pos cable till i can replace it.....so i've been running sans GP system, truck starts beautifully.......i'm excited being that i have original injectors, almost 200k on them.......only been re ringed......it belched a little white smoke and ran rough for about 6 seconds then smoothed out, no more smoke......

i've seen alot of no start threads due to cold, and since my GP realy is shot anyways, I just thought i'd see how cold it can start without GP's........ i don't think she'll start much colder tho.......you could tell she didn't like it very much......

On some level it doesn't surprise me, especially if your engine has good compression. Without the glowplugs, you have about an extra 150A to power the starter.
