Fuel Additive test in Diesel Power Mag on '97 PSD

Here is a link to fuel additive test on '97 Powerstroke. They tested the 2-stroke oil at 200:1 ratio which works out to 0.64 oz per gallon.

Good read. Thanks for posting. My local station carried LSD until about a month ago and now I can only get ULSD I run 2-cycle most of the time.

Who woulda thunk that LSD would eventually be as hard to come by as .... LSD?

The fuel economy numbers are interesting, but I've seen other research results that reference some magic number that (IIRC) is a composite of several factors, like lubricity, economy, completeness of burn, etc. And they tested only two boost products (besides the two-stroke oil)? A test of more products, with more comprehensive results, would be more useful.

(Gotta wonder how many 'net spy-probe-bot thingies are triggering with our repeated reference to "LSD"....)

Yeah there is a very in-depth test of 15-20 products floating around the forums.

In red....

I know this thread is a year old, but it's worth revisiting, especially considering the test truck is a 7.3.

It is surprising to me how the 2-stroke oil alone made that big a difference in fuel economy.

About 10 ounces per tank (~15 gallons fuel).
A quart is 32 ounces.
