ABS Light

I am working on re-painting my truck. I took the bed off because its pretty damaged so I'll need a new one. Nothing was hooked up to the bed. I raised it 3 inches and then unplugged everything and dropped the filler necks.

I went straight to the wash bay and blew all of the mud and grime off of the frame and top of the fuel tanks. When I took the truck out for a test drive the ABS light comes on after 15 mph and I think it is causing my truck not to **** into overdrive. It hits that gear in between 3rd and overdrive where its not locked up, I think it's caused by this light but can't get it to turn off to tell.

All of the connections on the rear axle are good. I unplugged the sensor on the front top of the rear axle which immediately turned on the ABS light and the speedo didn't work. So I plugged it back and and everything worked fine. Until 15mph came around and the light came on....

Any Ideas???

that happened to me at 15mph my airbag, and abs came on but turned out to be a door sensor, weird huh...

Door Sensor Very Odd. Maybe I'll smack my door sensors alittle.... I wouldn't think my abs light has to do with my brake lights unhooked??? I know the fords have some crazy stuff... Like The Brake light either means low Vacuum or Parking brake is on??? Very odd. I unplugged mine! The Van Vacuum Pumps will still turn on the parking brake light on which in turn doesn't allow the cruise control to work. Strange Stuff like that!!!

ya im about to get my book from advance auto, i can look it up exactly, thats another thing they will do it for free if you have one in your town.. just ask them to pull a code for you. or i think any part store..

Well I got 2 Chilton Manuals and forgot to look in them today (I forgot them at the shop)... But scanned my truck for codes and didn't get any which again I thought was odd..... So I came here..

most scanners dont have an abs compatable. THe one i bought i have to pay an extra 99 dollars :[ . See if you can get someone with a good one like snap on scanner the 5000 dollar ones hahaha

10-4 no other ideas what would be causing this???
