96 PSD will not idle on its own plz help.

i have a a 96 PSD 285k on it fluid levels full and new injectors. its runs fine warm, and also starts just fine, but will not idle at first. i have to hold the pedal down a tad bit for about a minute or 2 and then it will raise the rpms a bit and idle fine, any help would be appreciated thanx

Hi DANA60....

Just a WAG...drain down your fuel filter housing about 1/2 way. Pull out the fuel filter and with a small mirror, flashlight and Q-tips clean the small screen in the fuel canister. It is found on the driver's side inside the canister (fuel filter housing) just down from the top. Dip the Q-tips in fuel and wipe away all the black Keerap stuck on the screen. It may take a few Q-tips to get the screen clean, when done you should see the clean SS screen very easily....
