Lucky Me!

Hiring on with the local CAT dealer has already paid a dividend for my truck. Picked up a Baldwin fuel filter for my 96 for $14.46 plus tax. Found out I can also get oil filters and CAT DEO SYN at a discount as well. Heck, I can even get filters for my Mercedes through the company!

Yeah well -
The college is a bit too liberal for me, I'm an Aggie fan and my hometown is 45min North of there, so all my buddy's back home always give me crap about being an Aggie and not a Horns fan.......thus I HAVE to stand my ground!

a job with CAT

...insert jealeousy here! I would love to work for CAT. Be it selling products, running equipment...whatever. I would just be happy to work for a company that is so reliable in this day and age where everything is made to throw away. Kudos to CAT for keeping things the way it should be!!!

I can't disagree with you there. I call it "Berkeley on the Colorado". I went there to get a good education. Austin is a load of fun when you're 18-22, but no sane adult lives there. Of course there was a decent sized cadre of conservative students there back in the 1980's. We were too busy studying & playing to pay attention to squat to pee activist men and the hairy armpitted granola chicks.

A&M as a university is top notch but the corps turds, over the top students and all the inane traditions are just way too much for me. It always struck me that A&M's whole raison d'etre is to have an inferiority complex to UT. It's just sad. Texas A&M as an institution of higher learning is so much better that that.

I don't work directly for CAT but for the local CAT dealer (www.ohiocat.com). Still, it's a very good group to work for and I take pride in being associated with them. My dad worked for this dealership for 17 years and retired from the CAT dealership in Houston (Mustang) just a few months back. I guess I was brainwashed with yellow!!
