6 speed.

ok so while im in a question asking mood (this is my 3rd today) why is it i have read on here that you cant put a 6 speed from a sd into our obs ??? the engine bolt pattern is identicle???? why is it not an easy change? I have 4.10s with a 5 speed would love to be able to shift up one more time.

the 6 speed doesnt add one more higher gear it adds one lower gear so that would be like adding a -1 gear to the 5 speed you have, the rest are pretty much identical. second the tranny is shepped different so you would have to do alot of custom crossmember/floor/ driveshaft work. and im pretty sure the sf 6 speed has an internal clutch slave clinder so pretty much all the trouble of putting this tranny in to get one low gear. and if you really need it put the transfer case in 4 low. if your bored tho and have alot of time and patience, one could do it, but its really not worth it in the end
