Water leak, still!

I had an antifreeze leak at the return pipe on the water pump so today I installed a new pipe with the new O-Ring, new lower hose and new expansion bottle hose. Still have the leak!!! It is leaking from the joint between the water pump and the adapter pipe on the lower hose. I could pull it apart again and RTV the whole joint but I want to know if anyone else has had this happen and what did you find.
