Charging problems

So the other night my alternator(I thought) died on me...The Battery light started coming on and I saw that the guage indicated that it wasnt charging anymore. I Put a new one on and Problem went away. Untill Last night I hammered it in my truck. Something must of happened cause battery light came back on at the guage indicated that it wasnt charging anymore....

Any ideas???

Check the single wire and the connector on top of the alt. Sometimes the heater hose rubs against it. Make sure the connector is good and clean. and that the wire is tight in the connector.

Found it.. when removing one of the plugs from the alternator, I broke the retaining clip.... It simply jumped its way out. Lil dab of glue fixed it so far.
