my dad has a 96 F-250 stroker, here is the qaundry. can the alternator charge 14 volts and have a short in it? also heres the problem with his truck. if we leave the batteries hooked up to his truck all nnight then in the morning we go to start it and it is completely dead, autozone says the batteries are good and the alternator is good. any thoughts???? thanx

is anything left on??
how cold is it during the night?? if the temp outside drops low enough, it'll affect the performance you batteries. have you made any wiring changes?? you might have something draining your batteries. |

Elec. drains can be a real PITA to chase down, the quickest way is to remove all the fuses and put an ammeter between the terminals to narrow down the circuit that is drawing a load with the key off
