What kind of oil do you use?

So I'm new to diesel engines and am wondering why kind of oil you use and what brand do you prefer? Also, what sort of fuel additives? I've been told to add an algeacide every so often. Thanks for your input

I use Rotella.

I use Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme. Its a full synthetic and pretty expensive. Only use Motorcraft filters. I run power service Diesel Kleen+ cetane boost during the summer and their diesel fuel supplement during the winter months for the antigel. Mostly cause its really easy to find, but I'm sure they're better additives out there.

I use John Deere's Plus 50 mainly because we already have a barrel of it on hand for the tractors. In my 7.3 it seems to stay alot cleaner looking than other oils that I have seen used.
