head studs needed?

Buying a D66 turbo in about a week. How badly am I going to need headstuds? Are they worth doing myself or should I not chance it and take it to my mechanic?

You should be fine with stock headbolts and a D66, if your pushing over 40psi you should start worrying about studs if I remember correctly

The reason I did them was cause the engine was out and it was an easy time to do them for some extra insurance

My friend whose shop we pulled the engine at put them in and I watched, I had to pull the injectors out first in order to do it though, if you try to do it with the engine in the truck it will definitely be a pain. You have to do four rounds of torquing them down
