I know of people putting a 38x15.50x20 on a 20x9 rim... i'm putting 36x15.5x18 on a 18x9 rim... you should be fine.

Yeah but what I am getting at is that its .5" from being as wide as the tire. I want to make sure I can mount them on my rims before I buy them.

Yes you can. I have 16.5X12 rims and have ran 33, 35 and currently 37-12.50's with no problems. No odd wearing or trouble keeping them on the bead. In fact the only problem I ever found was getting ahold of a bead blaster to seat them!

Did you ever mount your 12.50 tires on your 12 wheels? How did t do? I also have some 37X12.50X16.5 tires and am currently looking for 16.5X12 wheels to put them on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
