Question REDNECK REPAIR QUESTION

All right, i gots myself a 1995 ford f-250 7.3l powerstroke diesel 4X4. For $2200 with 345000km on the clock, STEAL!!-right? However, The truck is an automatic.. that is my only complaint about it as the previous owner put in a rebuilt beefed up transmition in and the fuchin thing likes to go into limp mode for no reason, delay the shift points and slam the hell out of the gears, but only occasionally- usually when i have friends or Chevy fans in the truck. Anyhow, I brought it to a tranny shop and the professional tranny feller’ showed me what he thought the problem was( the harness and it was a little chewed). he said that he would replace it for $1000 and he could not grantee that that would fix it. So, with my problematic auto tranny i thought to myself “HELL, why don’t i just through a manual tranny in the son a b@#$% and ill choose when to shift the gears!” so that thought brought me to this site asking you experienced PSD guys how complicated it would be to put a manual tranny in my truck? Or should i suck it up and pay the $1000?

the harness install is $1000 cuz you aparentley need to drop the tranny to get the harness up and around

thats up to you..... but if youre really into the manual swap a few guys on here have done it and from what i remember the worst part was you had to switch out the pcm (powertrain controll module) for the manual one. good luck however it goes though.

idk how it would delay shift points by the computer bc it should be a hydrolic valve body and no computer needed to tell it when and how to shift.

That is where i would start go to the junk yard and pull a harness off. I pulled and replaced my harness on my SD in like 30min trans in the truck.
