Speedometer going crazy

My speedometer is intermittently fluttering from peg to peg full sweep really fast and is throwing the ABS light. I have read other threads on the forum about speedo issues, but they all seem to deal with speedo's that just bounce about 5 mph or so. Mine is really bad and makes a clicking sound as the needle bounces off of the pegs (it is really annoying). I took the sensor out of the rear end and cleaned it, but it didn't solve the problem. Should I just order a new sensor, or could it be the speedometer itself? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

I have seen that with the axle sensor.

Yep sounds like the rear wheel speed sensor. At least that's where i would start.

Ok, thanks for the help! I'll try to pick one up tomorrow and see if it fixes it.

when i ride on rough roads my speedo bounces and my odometer will either go blank or read partial numbers i dont know it may be the vss also my abs light has been on since i bought the truck and my od light will flash, the od light flashing doesnt happen that often its done it maybe 5 times in the past six months but the speedo, odometer, and the abs light is a constant problem, would the vss cause all these problems
