Exclamation Door Latch Problem

Today dad got unlocked and got into the passenger seat of my OBS and then I was just getting ready to get in but it just so happened that I pushed the button to open the door right as he pushed the powers door unlock and it didn't open so I had him try to open it from the inside and it didn't open again so I had him get out and I crawled across and drove home.
When I pull on the interior door handle or the outside button you can hear the latch making a noise but it just doesn't open. The lock seems to lock and unlock just fine but it just won't open. I pulled up the rubber window guide strip out and looked down see what I could see but I can't tell much.
Idk if this has anything to do with it but the hinges are getting pretty sloppy and the doors droop significantly when opened.
Has anybody ever had this happen?
Any advice is appreciated

it's the weirdest thing because whenever you pull on the handle or push the button, the latch sounds like it wants to open but it just doesn't
I'm gonna have a buddy who is very knowledgeable about fords look at it and see tomorow

Do you take your truck down dirt roads a lot? My mother inlaws 93 just needed the cables shot with wd40 due to all the dust that collected over the years.

it was on 100% highway until i got it about 5 months and 7000mi ago and since then it has to be on 4 miles of dirt roads to get to any blacktop...I shot the cables, pivots and mechanism with wd40 when I put 80's style metal door handles in place of the plastic ones

Thanks anyway man!
I talked to a buddy and he said that there are a couple plastic clips on a rod that make the latch mechanism work and he said that those clips are most likely broke or sumthin like that anyway. O well, i'll work on it tomorow and see what happens.
