Yea there's no need to drain the pan. Just spin it over once or twice so that every piston hits TDC

also, a few guys have told me to drive it like i stole it after they are in to clear everything out, and some guys say to be easy so i dont eff up the nozzles.???

Be easy for about 40 miles on them, to make sure they are seated good

To blow out the cylinders just set the valve covers over the heads after new injectors are installed, glow plugs out. Take a screw driver and touch across the starter solenoid to turn engine over for a few secs. then finish reassembly. Once truck starts, let it idle for a good 5-10 mins, then drive for 30-50 miles WITHOUT getting on it. You want to bleed the air out of the system, and not beat up the injectors. Then from there you can get on it and clean it out.

quick question, i have the injectors and glow plugs out right now. should i turn her over, forgot to pull those little copper plugs to drain the heads, so number 4 has quite a bit of oil in it. please advise.

Do not turn it over without the injectors in, put the injectors in and put the retaining bolt on and oil deflector, and be sure the injectors are seated before tightening the retaining bolt, then leave the glow plugs out and turn it over
also put the valve covers on with a bolt or two, since you didnt drain the rails a good deal of oil will come out |
