Front axle questions???

OK I've been turning the local junk yards over and found one dana 60, but the actual housing is junk, the knuckles/brakes are good though. Now a found a 2000 dana 60 but the lug pattern is different and it is missing the steering linkage, and the gear ratio is wrong.

Both are ball-joint axles, and the older one has the gear ratio I need. And my question is could I use the gears, knuckles, and all the linkage off the older one on the 2000 model one?

As far as I know, yes. I may be wrong though.
