Hydroboost

The OBS trucks did not come with hydro boost factory correct? You have to do a conversion from OBS 450's. This is my understanding. Am I wrong or right? Or am I in between?

If you're talking about the brakes, yes you're right. The OBS's came stock with vacuum assist brakes. IDK about doing a conversion, though, sounds interesting. Why are the hydroboost brakes better?

Well... the reason I'm asking is bc I'm doing a custom build to my F350. 2.5 ton Rockwells and full hydraulic steering (like a tractor or construction equipment) and I was having a little trouble with some cavitation in the steering. Was just making sure I didn't have hydro boost. If I did I would have had to vent the system.

Yeah hydro boost came stock on 99 and up Super Duties. It uses hydro static energy from the power steering pump to aid in power for braking. You can buy kits from Bronco Graveyard I believe. Or take them of OBS 450's and swap them in with a little modifiying. Just wanted to make sure I didnt have them stock, being a 1 ton and a 7.3.
