'97 starter bendix hanging up.

Hi, I replaced my starter 2 years ago with a NAPA lifetime starter when the bendiz started hanging up. I started having problems again a couple of weeks ago and replaced the starter again. It started fine 3 times and started hanging up again. Sometimes it will hang up 2 times and start sometimes it will hang up 10 times and start. I replaced the solenoid and cleaned all the cables connecting to it and it started great 5 times and started hanging up again. Help?

check the ring gear on the flywheel or flex plate.
