transmission ?'s

How do these transmissions work is kinda my question i guess.. I love my builty tranny but it seems like it falls on its face a little more than it should on the 3rd shift (i believe)

Also if i manually put the truck into 2nd and floor it it seems like its shifting once the RPM's get up pretty high (even though i cant be cuz its manually in 2nd) is this the TC locking up or something??

And another question is how exactly does the TC work lol??

I feel like an idiot for asking these questions but i guess i'd rather ask than constantly wonder

yea dont worry about thats what this sites for.

But basiclly they work on the computer in the tranni that tells it when to shift i found some program about the e40d's tells you everything. How to check it but cant find the website.

Yes that sounds like the lock up of the tc. After i got mine rebuilt with a dual disk tc and shift kit it shifts firm/smooth fast shifts no delayed long shifts.

i also run full synthetic fluid

yeah i kind of figured it was the TC lol...I love having a built tranny lol!! Much easier to put the power to the gound haha

What does a TC lock up switch do? Are they worth having? It seems like it would be nice to be able to keep it locked up
