Body mounts

those of you with OBS trucks who have replaced your body mounts, do you have to drop the tank to get to the rear drivers side body mount. or does it come loose from the top. Also, is replacing all the body mounts a pain or is it surprisingly easy?

if you are 4x4 i would go with a poly type, if you want less noise go with a rubber.

Pretty sure you'll have to drop the tank. I said F^&* it when I did mine, since the driver's rear wasn't bad yet. The bushings are crimped in with a metal piece on either side of the rubber. What a PITA to get apart. I wound up putting a bolt in the underside of the mount with a chain. Wrapped the chain around a floor jack about 1" off the ground. Crank up jack until it touched the frame, then *BANG* the mount pulled apart. Some guys say you can pound them apart with a punch inside the cab, but I didn't have luck with it, nor did I like the idea of swinging a sledge around inside my truck.
