How much to rebuild a PSD?
IF a PSD in a 97 F350 needs rebuilding, how much should I expect to pay a shop to do it? About how long does it take them to do it? Finally, will the motor be expected to be just like new and last another 500k miles?

you can pick up a new rebuilt psd for around 4k and swap it yourself if you pay a shop to take it out rebuild it and put it back in i would think it would be a whole bunch more than 4k.

yeah man, you are better off just putting in a reman engine. It will be cheaper and less downtime as well. Good luck man.

Friend of mine with a 7.3 in a 2000 F350 had a crate moter put in at a dealership last November, cost him $10,000, but that was a complete motor and included a new turbo.

I don't have the tools to put one in myself--not to mention the fact I have never done a diesel before.
Maybe I can get some stimulus money to get one.
