installing new injectors on thurs

picked up a set for 850 with no core charge. im a first timer at this. seems pretty straight forward. are there any tricks? is that tool to install them really necessary? guy told me about the little vacuum reservoir on the heater box so the 2 rears will come out easier. any tricks? Thanks a lot.

yep take the vacuum reservoir off, and there is no need for the special tool, when you put them in just be sure they are fully seated and be sure to purge all the oil out of the cylinders

Yep, thats it!!!!

I purged the cylinders by removing the glow plugs, and bumping the engine over....makes a good mess...even with the valve covers sitting in place...

yup they all nailed it. make sure that you get all that oil out of the cylinder, otherwise you will hydrolock the engine.

The easiest way to prevent making a mess is get a 1/4 hex socket and take the 2 oil rail plugs out on each head to drain the oil before removing the injectors. You may have to tap the socket in to make sure it is seated so you don't strip the plug. All the oil will drain to the pan.
