Truck dies

i just bought my 94.5 psd and it will start and run then die and not it will not even start. its been kind of acting up. is this the cps? i understand if the tach doesnt register its a bad cps but how much does the tach move?

Any codes? Did you check you fuses? The tach wont read at all if the CPS is bad because basically the CPS is the only thing that lets your ECM know that the engine is running. Check your fuses and see if it has any codes...they could be the problem. If not let us know and we will keep hacking at it.

well i checked fuse number 22. it wasnt bad. the truck will crank and maybe hit a lick ever once in a while.. but it is in the teens at night and up to about 30 in the day..before it died the check engine light came on.. but it started up sense then but now it wont start again. the tach DOES move though and its supose to have new glow plugs

check oil level and is it in good shape

yes batteries r good. the oil prob needs changing but i would guess its good enough to start

try checking fuel pressure while cranking?

the hpop keeps draining somewhere, i dont know where because after i crank it it is low or empty?? thats y it wont start?

does anyone know how much oil it is supose to hold?
