Hood release cable broke HELP!!!!

Anyone have any tricks for getting it open on a 97 F-350

. It broke just inside the grille

so I can't even get vise grips on it to open and of course I need washer fluid.

is there any cable left coming off the latch? If so reach in throw the grill. grab whats left of the cable and pull. Mine broke over a year ago and I still havent fixed mine. I just reach in and pull on the cable.

Can't remember for sure but seems like when I had a truck like that I would pull with pliers through the grill, nut it's been a long time since I've had to deal with a truck that has a broken hood pull. Other thing you could do is strip the plastic off in the cab and pull on the wire

The cable broke inside the locking mechanism for the hood. Pulling on the cable was the first thing I did. The good new is I pulled on the release inside cab and after 12+ hours of plowing it got popped up so I'll have to look into it after I fix my sander which went down during the snow storm
