New fenders or body work?

I'm looking at a few trucks here in New England and they all seem to have rot on the from fenders... The lower part behind the wheel against the door. Do you think it should be fixed or the fender replaced? If replaced.. What's the best quality aftermarket available??

Thanks

patch will rust out again, esp in NE. All replacement fenders are made overseas, so look for warranty info from supplier & e-coat primer. LMC, Keystone, NPD for suppliers. Check w/ local Ford dealer for surplus old stock.

Ok will do!

How is the quality on aftermarket. Will you be able to tell by looking at the truck? Subtle body line differences or anything?

some have crisper body lines than others & some line up easier than others. talk to local auto body shops & dealership to find out who they use for aftermarket parts, or LMC & NPD parts through the mail. honestly its usually a crap shoot but remember once you modify the part it's not returnable at all.

other option is used fenders on CL or ebay but I would only buy what you look @ in person. you know where it rusted out & it occurs from the inside out from crap accumulating between the outer skin & inner structure so be sure to look there & treat w/ prevention there.

The pics help!! They look good.

I thought about the CL route but everything up here is trashed.

I have a WTB in classifieds.. Hoping I find something from the south.

I am a fan of OEM Ford fenders for $200 each instead of aftermarket $100 each ones.

But I would be more concerned about your ROTTEN radiator support that is no longer available from ford or the aftermarket
