Funky light issue

When I plug in the fuse that makes the speedo work the dome light and white lights next to the third brake light stay on. Any ideas?

First, check to make sure you "dome" switch on the headlight switch is off...

Open the door and press the door jamb switch in and see if the light will go out (try both sides.) Sometimes due to body misalignment, the switch will not be pressed in far enough by the door. If this is the case, loosen the offending switch a turn or so with a deep socket or wrench.
