Rear window broke

Sometime today while I was at work, the passenger side section of the rear window glass broke. I know they were weed whacking the grass right near the vehicles earlier. I have no proof, but I'm guessing they could have thrown up a something which caused it to break. It was all intact till I got home and closed the door after I got out. Now there's a nice hole and glass is scattered inside the bed. What's the best and least expensive way to go about repairing it?

Weedwhacking!! My wife broke both panels of our sliding door last year.

I broke mine last year and ended up replacing the whole thing. Was told that the one panel could not be changed out. I may have been taken for ride though.

Least expensive? Craigslist or junkyard for a solid window. Or maybe you score another slider!

I have a whole rear window you can have. PM me if you want it, I'm an hour down the road if you can't find anything closer.

Thanks a lot everyone for the responses. I'm about to call a few places in the area to see what I can find.

I appreciate it. If I have no luck with the local junk yards, I'll definitely let you know.

Found a place that has two rear windows for sale from 1997 Ford F250's. Is a 1997 rear glass compatible with a 1996 truck? I would think they would be but I figure I might as well ask just to make sure.

Yes, as long as it's from the OBS and not the rounded 1997 Super Duty-ish body style. Any F-150/250/350/Superduty from 1980-1996 will work.

You can replace ONE piece of glass, you just need to disassemble the window. Not a big deal, you will have the window out of the truck anyway.

And YES a 97 F250HD, F350, F-Superduty are the same cab as a the 96 and older cabs
