Door Hinges
Hey guys. My driver side door hinges are sagging to the point of rubbing the front fender. Can these hinges be shimmed or do they just have to be replaced?

You can get new bushings and hinge pins from Advance Auto and probably any auto parts store. They can be a pain to install, though. Also get new striker bolts.

1. how would you rate fit/finish of replacement pin kits vs. new hinges?
2. anyone have info on good place to get new hinges at a fair price? |

I just went to a scrap yard and bought some hinges off of an f-series, took them home and rebuilt them with need hinge pins and a quick coat of body color. I then pulled the fenders off and replaced the old hinges with the rebuilt ones!!! The difference is night and day!!

u can also shim the bottom hinge with washers until u get new hinges. i did mine, just loosen bottom bolts on door pry hinge and door apart push washers in, may take 3 or 4 washers but it lines up the door. keep from wrecking your door latch.
