Tailgate

I just picked up my first diesel truck this past Friday. It's a white 95 F350 Crewcab and it's in very good condition. I was able to get the AC working yesterday (flush, compressor, filter/drier, orifice, o-rings, oil, vacuume and charge = 40degf at vent ). And from info found on this site, I'll tackle a minor fuel leak next.

The only thing needed on the truck is the tailgate. I bought the truck from the original owner and he said that a few years ago he had the gate down, got out of the truck to do something and the truck rolled back into a post which bent it. He took the gate off and never replaced it since he used the truck mostly with a gooseneck. I would like an OEM tailgate but I'm open to other options. From what I can tell any 94-97 tailgate from a 350 will work, but will a 150 or a 250 tailgate fit the 350? Does anyone have a recommendation if I can't find a OEM tailgate?

I was going to say -- check at a custom flatbed or steel bed dealer or someone who takes off factory beds and installs the flat beds -- I know a place in my small town that has 10-15 complete factory take-off beds sitting in their lot from all differnet years...

I think that woudl be an easy place to find what you may need

Then you should have no problem finding a place like I mentioned -- I bet you'd be able to find all you'd need at one of those places

That's a great idea! I'll do some surfing and see if I can find a place like that. I'm just wondering if they would have any that old lying around...

I was thinking maybe an aftermarket tailgate of some sort may have to do. Although I am hoping to go OEM since the body is in such good shape.

I just did some searching for an "air" tailgate and got several hits. It looks like some of the sites have some quality products so that is an option, thanks!
