From mount cargo rack

I am thinking of doing some sort of hitch mount front rack on my excursion to assist in hauling stuff when we have the tt hooked up. Does anyone have pics of such a beast? Do I do a single hitch setup? Do I replace the tow hooks with single receivers and have a basket welded custom? Is there something out there I am not seeing? Any input would be great.

On and off...which section should I have put this in? I thought this section included accessories.

the 99-04 powerstroke section, and you can go from either the exterior talk, or excursion talk, but if you make it thick enough a single receiver would be fine, how much weight are you trying to add in this "basket" and how much space are trying to take with it? y not just do a roof rack?

Enough firewood to camp for the weekend, looks like most racks are rated for 500 lbs. Considered a roof rack but the truck won't fit in the garage and getting wood off the roof might be a p.i.t.a

lol, not sure, you could just start it over, but i guess that makes sense, about how far would you need it to come off the front? and your not planning on going to far with that are you? blocking the radiator/intercooler/transmission cooler while towing a TT? and have it stay between the headlights still? another idea is a lot seem to have those cargo treys on the back of their trucks/suv's but you could move that to the rear of your trailer so as not to be blocking anything and just hangs out on the rear?

Thought about that too but my trailer company makes it very clear rear mount hitches will void my warranty.

ahh, how about one of those removable roof racks? thats terrible they would void you like that, im out of ideas, lol

i think making a bracket that bolts to the bolts next to the tow hitch and weld square tubbing out from it and make your basket slide inside or over that with a hitch pin or something to hold it in place would work great and would be HD enough to hold fire wood
