Eddie Bauer Paint Codes

Hey Guys,

So I am going to go ahead with new paint and I want to go with the black/brown Eddie Bauer scheme.

According to a couple of sales brochures, the lower brown is listed as Tuscon Bronze. I like that color.

According to some of the trucks I have seen, the paint code is XD for the lower accent. The code comes up with the color name Light Santa Fe.

Any aftermarket paint books I have looked at do not list a Tuscon Bronze, and only list a Light Santa Fe. I do not know if that means that it is named by the aftermarket, or if they use the same Ford names.

I realize that lighting, main color (Black, Blue, White) will make the accent look different, but I just want to make sure that I have the right color before starting.

These colors do not match, by my eyes.

Am I the only one?

Well, after a bit more research, going to the body shop, I have tracked down the correct paint codes.

I stumbled upon an Eddie Bauer black and tuscon bronze truck at the wrecker the other day, and I grabbed a pic of the door sticker







This proves that the XD paint code should match the Tuscon Bronze.

I went to the body shop, and they had a book of paint codes, and the XD code swatch they had from AkzoNobel for 1996 looked like this one.


I might try some different body shops to see what codes they have

I am getting closer to paint. I have the tonneau all sanded and smoothed, ready for paint.


I also got my Lightning air dam as well. This is it vise gripped to the bumper to see what it would look like. I cant wait till it matches the black of the rest of the truck.


Soon, all things will be black and tuscon bronze.

got a good question, what color is your interior? are you doing an Eddie Bauer theme and painting the letters on as well? and here is an idea for ya, why not just add the harley davidson paint on the side, to go with the rims? just an idea tho

My interior is tan, with the Eddie bauer dash trim, and I changed out the seats to tan leather from an Eddie Bauer explorer, so they are embroidered as well. I was planning to keep on with that theme. The lettering on the rear quarter panel would get cut from vinyl so I can just stick it on.

I thought about doing the lower accent as the harley copper, but a wise friend of mine once said

"Unless you have a Harley Davidson motorcycle, you are not allowed to have/wear anything with Harley on it, it makes you look like an idiot" and then he spit on the ground. I almost feel like enough of a traitor with the harley logos on the center caps

I used to have a blue and gold eddie bauer F150. They are beautiful trucks. Yours is going to look fantastic.

LAWLZ about the harley statement. Soo true, id feel like a real fake. Do yall know if EBs came in all black? Ive got a all black w tan interior andmy dash says eddie bauer on it.

Between Bronco and F-150, I have seen them in white, green, blue, and copper. There were probably other colors as well, I am just going by memory of what I have seen.

Not that I have found. I have a few brochures, but nothing lists one
