OBS Factory Purple Paint

Do any of you OBS guys remember Ford putting factory dark purple paint on the OBS trucks? Aside from Powerstrokes, i'm also a big fan of the 4.9 inline 6...I found a nice '95 reg cab long bed 4x4 with the inline 6 that i'm looking to buy as a beater, but it's purple. The door jams, inside the gas cap, I even pulled down the headliner...it's all purple and looks like it was factory. Anyone remember this color as an option?

Yep. I had a girlfriend in high school that had a purple F250. I've also seen it on a few 2 tone trucks, but its not very common.

I had a ranger that was a purpleish color. It was called sapphire blue from ford. Don't know if it is the same color or not

buddy of mine back at camp lejeune had one, but he hated when you called his truck purple, it was a reg cab idi 94 iirc, and he always corrected me with "it's saphire blue, NOT PURPLE"

yeah most came two tone purple and white, a little more rare is the grey and purple. Another color that is kinda messed up is the teal.

300 inline six is a dam good motor might I add...

Yes, they are excellent engines. I currently own a 2wd '93 inline 6 with 245k miles that runs great, but i've been looking for a 4x4 inline 6 for a while. 4x4 inline 6 F-150s are very hard to find in Florida...I just wish it was ANY other color.

I like the purple 2 tones. I would like a purple and white or purple and charcoal 2 tone.
