use the AL's DIY Liner kit.... comes with everything you need and looks great. get in touch with stelth automotive, he uses it all the time on his trucks....
as for making it last, it is all about the prep work and follow the directions to a T. to get a nice crisp line get masking tape that has a wire in it!! pull the wire to cut the liner and pull off the tape to remove the extra... as for ideas on color and hights, i dont have any experance, but i would say do all the way up to where the body bends back up.. thats were all the damage to the paint is done |

I have a buddy that owns the line-x dealership and when we did mine all we used was masking tape and a plastic cover so there was no over spray on the rest of the truck.

How did you choose that masking line? Measured from lowest point of the fender? My worry isn't so much the lower area, but when I start getting into the wheel arches, it will not look good following the same line. I'm using wire tape and a cover this time. I used painters tape last time and it was decent but not great.
