tailgate parts

anyone know where i can get the big aluminum plate on the tail gate mine is beat up and would like to buy a new one

I'm sure that the aftermarket has them-stop by a body shop, see what they can get!

Get one of the newer gates that didn't have it. I think they look nicer without it anyway!

if you mean the big silver piece that says "ford" they are pretty pricy

Hell the truck I have that came with it I wanted to get rid of, and the trucks I bought that didn't come with it i wish they would have. It looks good but only on certain colors imho

80-96/97 hd should fit, but 92-96/97 hd fit perfect, and xlt option usually has the gate with the Chrome

Saw a thread somewhere that a guy replaced that piece with some aluminum diamond plate. If I recall correctly he also applied the black strip and "FORD" letters too. But just the plate would look good too.
