dually box on 97 450

I just bought a 97 f450 cab and chasis, powerstroke 5spd dually, 2wd. my question is can you put a dually box on it from the same year. im debating between doing this and building a flatbed for it. it is 84inch cab to axle. im thinking with a box there would be about two feet from the cab to the box, not sure if im right on this or not. i was thinking of filling the gap with a tool box since its just a regular cab and it would be nice to have some storage for those trips that take a couple days. the pickup will be hooked to a trailer 95 percent of the time. any opinions or suggestions are appreciated. also if there are any pics of this out there i would love to see them. thanks all.

I know the F350 cab/chassis had a narrower axle and frame. I don't know what the F450 would be. Measure your frame and axle width and compare it to the dually bed to see if things will fit.

You can always make some brackets to fit the bed on the wider frame. or find a body shop and have the bed lengthened to take up the extra space so it looks right. Youll be the only one with a 10 foot bed. All you will really need is the bed skins or find a truck that had the bed wrecked in the back and cut off the front part and mate them together.
