OBS Front bumper build

Well my stock front bumper has been rusted out on the bottom for some time, and wanted to make something strong, looks good on a budget, and able to attach a weight bracket to it for some sled pulling. I'm not done yet, but have a descent start.

Picked this 10' of 10" C channel up for $30 dollars .20 cents a pound.

Two pieces of 3" C channel welded together. I had 3/4" bolt in front, drilled through the frame and front bumper bracket. Then used 1/2" bolt in rear. The C channel welded together fits nice and tight in the frame.

They stick out 4 1/2" from frame.

Was kind of a pain to get 10" C channel lined up, 3 different levels later, got it lined up about pretty good. Its sits 1 1/2" lower than the front panel.

I should have the rest of the pieces cut out tomorrow, hopefully have time to get tacked and aligned. I also plan on adding, holes for lights, and designing some kind of bracket for the front weight rack. Hope it holds the 1,000 lbs plan to put on it. More pictures will be coming soon!

Here is where its at till I get more time to work on it. It will be shortened side to side about 3"s and the next angle will be straight back. I will then cut the sides up so it will have more of a clean look. I also bought a sheet of diamond plate to cover the top.

Then I have to decide where I want to cut the holes for the lights shout i put them close together in the center or on the first bend back?

Would you guys paint it black or get it line-x'd to match the rest of the truck, I think either way it will look good.

Looking sweet bud... I think it would look awesome Black Line-X... Would look real sweet if you took the side angled sectionsand cut an angle viertically... Say come up from the bottom like 3 inches... That would look sick... Thats what I am planning for mine...
