difference in wheel base

ok, i did a search and couldn't find anything so i'll just ask.

does anybody know the difference in wheelbase and overall length between an extended cab long box and a crewcab short box?

i have an oportunity to buy a cheap (re: beat to crap) crew cab long box gas pot obs and was thinking about using the cab and stuff and converting mine to a crew cab short box.
i know people will say just buy another truck but they are hard to find in a obs with a short box and my truck is just getting to where i want it, so i am tossing around the idea. i kind of need a crew cab now but really don't want to get rid of my truck.

first off great minds must think alike. i was gonna do the same thing untill i stumbled across a mint crew cab powerstroke after giving up looking for a clean one for a year and a half. i currently own one of each and measure as followed. ex cab longbed wheelbase is 156 inches centered hub to hub and 230 inches from the grill to the tailgate. crew cab short bed is 152.5 inches hub to hub and 226 inches overall. hope this helps, any further questions just ask, i'm happy to help with measurements until the ex cab sells.
