The joys of living in the rust belt

Decided it was time to start cutting and getting rid of the rust. Only been sitting on the parts for a year now and it gave me a excuse to buy some new tools.
The begining

The point of no return

Sheetmetal back in place

Primered and almost ready for paint

Turned out pretty strait. Have a few minor things to fix before final paint. Now i just have to wait to get my spray gun and get it painted... Not sure if all these nice new air tools helped at all. i kept taking to much material out probably had to do way more work than i needed to. But taking the extra time with a strait edge and double and tripple checking everything payed off in teh end so far

Just remember that primer retains water!!! so dont wait too long to get that painted, and if you do wait too long, you'll have problems

I would look at the new Duplicolor Paint shop Paint. It comes ready to spray. No mixing or anything like that. Just have to put it in the gun and start shooting.

I read some reviews on that system and they were not verry positive. Most of the reviews said it was way to thin requiring lots of extra coats, and it dyred to fast making it hard to get the clear on in time..

I think the primer i use has a built in sealer. Same primer i used for my toyota and i drove it for years with no paint over the primer before i decided to paint the repaired sections
